Choosing the right boiler type
Combi boilers suit most homes with one main bathroom. System boilers with a hot water cylinder are better where several taps or showers are used together. Regular boilers suit some older homes with existing tanks. Our boiler guide explains the differences in more detail.
Getting the size right
Bigger isn't better. An oversized boiler cycles on and off more, which can reduce efficiency. We consider your home's size, insulation, radiators and hot water needs to recommend a sensible output.
Renovations and extensions
If you're extending or remodelling, it's a good moment to reconsider where the boiler sits and whether your current system type still makes sense. Get in touch early so the heating can be planned alongside the building work.
Regulations and paperwork
Gas boiler installations must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer and notified under Building Regulations. You should receive a commissioning record (Benchmark checklist) and a Building Regulations compliance certificate.
