When is it time to replace your boiler?
There's no fixed age, but boilers more than 10–15 years old are commonly less efficient than modern condensing models, and parts can become harder to source. Frequent breakdowns, rising repair bills, inconsistent hot water, or a pilot light on an older non-condensing model are all signs it's worth getting a quote.
If your boiler is currently working, there's no need to rush. Replacing on your own timetable — rather than in the middle of winter after a breakdown — gives you time to choose properly.
Like-for-like or a system change?
A like-for-like replacement keeps the same boiler type in the same place, which is usually the quickest and least disruptive option. But your household may have changed since the old boiler was fitted.
Converting a regular boiler with loft tanks to a combi frees up space; switching to a system boiler can give stronger hot water to multiple bathrooms. We'll explain the trade-offs honestly in your quote.
Moving your boiler
Want the boiler out of the kitchen and into a loft, garage or utility? Relocations are often possible but involve new pipework, a new flue route and a condensate drain. Just tell us in the quote form and we'll factor it in.
Why we don't show an instant price
Online 'instant prices' can change once someone sees your home — flue routes, gas pipe sizing, system condition and access all matter. We prefer to review your details and give you a written quote you can rely on.
